Adana Commodity Exchange Campus foundations laid
The foundations for Adana Commodity Exchange Campus were laid in a ceremony attended by the President of the Republic of Turkey, Abdullah Gül, Customs and Commerce Minister Hayati Yazıcı, Culture and Tourism Minister Ömer Çelik and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.

Recorded economy is indispensable for a strong democracy
Speaking at the Personal Development and Motivation Training program attended by approximately 1,700 deputy tax inspectors who took office in March, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Recorded economy is indispensable for a strong democracy.”

National sovereignty is the foundation of freedom and justice
In his statement celebrating the April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that national sovereignty is the indispensable form of governance for our country and said that, “Our children, growing up immersed in this reality, are the best surety of our future.”

EU – Turkey KİK members visit Turkey Kamu-Sen to present their well-wishes
EU – Turkey Joint Arbitration Committee (KİK) members visited Turkey Kamu-Sen to celebrate them on their new service building and the newly held general assembly. Present during the visit were TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, EU – Turkey Joint Arbitration Committee Co-President and TESK President Bendevi Palandöken, Türk-İş President Ergün Atalay, Hak-İş President Mahmut Arslan and TİSK Secretary General Bülent Pirler.

Signing of an FTA and the waiving of visas will further trade relations with Malaysia
Speaking at the business lunch attended by the Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato' Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak and his delegation, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan as well as the businessmen from the two countries, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that the establishment of a Free Trade Agreement and waiving visas would increase between the two countries.

There’s still more money to be made in retail
Attending the Domestic Franchises Meeting held by the Turkey Retailers Federation, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that 60% of the world economy is generated in cities, said, “The way is open for the retail sector. Those with complaints in regards to the sector should know that there’s still more money to be made in retail.”
