Teachers are the architects of our future

In his November 24th Teachers Day message, TOBB President and TOBB Economy and Technology University (ETU) Board of Trustees Chairman M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that teaching is one of the most honorable professions in the world, said, “Our teachers who prepare our children for the future are the architects forming the world of tomorrow.”

In his message Hisarcıklıoğlu said:

“We have been brought up to show the same love and respect to our teachers as we show to our parents. We have taken the saying ‘I’ll be a slave to the one who teaches me but a single letter’ as our rallying cry.

We live by the belief that those who save nations, those who prepare the future are teachers.

We think that classes are like their teachers, we know how they influence children and we put great importance on them.

Neither were we mistaken nor the great thinkers who spoke on the subject.

We see that the works of teachers are people. They are the ones who bring up the leaders of the country, the artists, the scientists, athletes, businessmen, workers, farmers and civil servants.

In short it is the education provided by our teachers that shapes everything.

It is with this mentality that we as the umbrella organization of the Turkish business world, founded the TOBB University of Economy and Technology in the 2004-2005 education year.

We are striving to train the leaders, executives and public figures of the future.

Our efforts have started to yield results and our alumni have begun to achieve successes which fill us with pride.

We are also continuing our contributions to education through our 365 chambers and exchanges throughout Turkey. We are building schools as conditions allow in every province and are working to fulfill the business community’s education mission.

This is because we believe that the most beneficent of people are those who are beneficent to others.

There is not more beneficent work on the earth.

It is with these thoughts and sentiments that I present my gratitude and respect to the education community and celebrate the November 24th Teachers Day of our dear teachers.”
