ICC Turkey National Committee Board convened

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Turkey National Committee Board of Directors convened with M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu presiding over the meeting. Stating that international mechanisms like the ICC determine the rules of trade in the world, Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that it is impossible for any one country to bring about change in international rules and emphasized the importance of the ability to lobby within international organizations.​

“Agreement for the Facilitation of Trade” will stop declining trade

Assessing the fact that, in three months, the Agreement for the Facilitation of Trade, the WTO’s first comprehensive trade reform according to the 2016 Action Plan, will be presented to the Great National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey (TBMM), TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The agreement which will enter into effect once it has been ratified by two thirds of WTO members can be considered a milestone in stopping the declining trade figures.”​

“We will follow up on the reforms in the Action Plan”

Received by Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and the TOBB Board of Directors delegation accompanying him extended their well wishes for Davutoğlu in his new term. In a statement following the reception, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that they find the one year Action Plan proposed by the government to be very beneficial, “The business community and investors always want to be able to look ahead. This is what the Action Plan provides us. We thank the government for this.”​
