Anatolia rises up; Turkey finds its real strength

​​ Attending the Şanlıurfa provincial and county chambers/exchanges joint meeting, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that what lies under Turkey’s success recently is the awakening of Anatolia and that with the rising economy of Anatolia, Turkey has found its real strength. ​

​The Turkish Olympics Student Delegation’s visit to TOBB

​ The Student Delegation of the 11th International Turkish Olympics visit TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu at his office. Stating that they are proud of all the Turkish schools abroad, Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out the importance of education. Emphasizing that they heartily adopt a culture which states that the most beneficent of men is he who is beneficent to others, Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated the guest students and their teachers. ​

​NGOs urge prudence for “Gezi Park” protests

​ The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Turkish Workers’ Syndicates Confederation (TÜRK-İŞ), Turkish Tradesmen and Artisans Confederation (TESK), Turkey Agriculture Chambers Union (TZOB), HAK-İşçi Syndicates Confederation (HAK-İŞ), and Public Servants Syndicates Confederation (MEMUR-SEN) made a statement regarding the “Gezi Park” protests which started in Taksim, İstanbul and have spread to the country at large. ​

​Curses and insults can’t be democratic rights.

​ In a press release by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, it was stated that, “It is the most natural right of our citizens for them to be expressing their demands inside the framework of law.” ​

​Violence and fighting can’t solve anything. It is our hope that reason will prevail

​ We, the business community, are following the incidents which began in İstanbul and spread to many provinces in recent days with apprehension. Our region and the global economy are under duress. In this time of rapid change, we need peace and stability more than ever. ​

​We cannot gloss over the importance of the insurance sector, the guarantors for risks

​ TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu celebrated “Insurance Week”, held throughout the country to raise awareness to the matter of insurance. ​

​We want to invest in Tunisia’s future

​ Speaking at the dinner held as a part of the Turkish – Tunisian Business Forum, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that Turkey and Tunisia’s bilateral trade volume is 1.1 billion USD, said, “This figure is unbefitting of our friendship and developing relations. I believe that we can do much better through joint efforts.” ​

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs. Nazmiye Demirel”

​ Publishing a message regarding the passing of Nazmiye Demirel, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Mrs. Nazmiye Demirel has always represented Turkey successfully with her gentlewomanly manner and loving personality. I am deeply saddened by her passing. May Allah grant her grace; I present my condolences to her husband Süleyman Demirel and her loved ones.” ​

​We want to see more women and youth in our councils and boards

​ Speaking at the Turkey Young Businessmen Confederation (TÜGİK) Assembly 2013 meeting, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, emphasizing that the future is in the hands of the youth, said that the youth and women need to have more presence in both councils and boards. ​
