DTİK awards European and Balkans city representatives with their certificates

The Union Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Turks living in Europe have shouldered the European economy. Plans are being drawn to determine how to work together with the Turkish capital and Turkish entrepreneurs exiting the crisis.”​

Turkish diaspora establishing “Global City Network”

Turkish businessmen are expanding their abroad organization model from country level to the city level in order to increase influence. World Turkish Business Council, working under DEİK, is organized in over 200 cities worldwide. Meeting with over 600 Turkish businessmen in Köln, DEİK and DTİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Our goal is to match the effectiveness of Chinese and Jewish diaspora by the centennial anniversary of the Republic, becoming one of the top 3 diaspora in the world. We won’t be the most numerous but we target being one of the most effective. With our institutional structure, we will contribute to turning Turkey dreams into goals and its goals into reality.”​

Cities, not countries, will come to the fore

Speaking at the 6th Developing Cities Summit held in Kayseri, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that, in the ever-changing world, cities, not countries, will come to the fore. Hisarcıklıoğlu said that this was the time to be exporting entrepreneurs, not goods.​

“If the Europeans have succeeded, so can the ECO countries”

Speaking at the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Chamber of Commerce and Industry Executive Council meeting, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu urged the facilitation of trade. Reminding that EU countries conduct 70% of their trade with each other and their neighbors, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “As the ECO countries, we are still trying to keep us away from each other. Protective policies, although they may seem beneficial in the short term, in the medium term, they prevent development and prosperity.”​

Hisarcıklıoğlu in Pakistan for ECO CCI meetings

TOBB president M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu has traveled to Karachi, Pakistan for the 19th Executive Council, 13th General Assembly and Committee Meetings of the Economic Cooperation Organization Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ECO CCI) which will take place between the 2nd and 4th of October, 2014.​

Turkey’s largest local products trade fair, Local Goods Fair (YÖREX) will open its doors to visitors on October 22nd. Local, traditional goods of Anatolia from 81 provinces will be on display in search of new markets at the Antalya Expo Center.​
