​Former British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw visited TOBB

​ The former British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, former Foreign Affairs Minister Yaşar Yakış, Turkish-British Business Council Sir Julian Horn-Smith and former Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Uğur Ziyal visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu in order to discuss methods to further commercial and economic relations United Kingdom and Turkey. ​

​Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated champion Galatasaray

​ TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated the Galatasaray Football Team which has guaranteed their championship in the 2012-2013 season. Stating that brotherhood and friendship are at the heart of sports, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “I congratulate the Galatasaray community which has displayed a successful performance throughout the season, assuring their championship and hope that their success continues on to the next years Champions’ League.” ​

​ Turkish – Japanese Businessmen Meeting took place with the attendances of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yıldız, Economy Minister Zafer Çağlayan and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. ​

Turkey and Japan are two strong columns supporting Asia

Speaking at the Turkish-Japanese Business Council’s 20th Joint Meeting, TOBB and DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that they put great importance on their economic relations and friendship with Japan. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Turkey and Japan are alike to two strong columns holding up two ends of Asia and said, “If the economic relations between countries improve, the most active, the most dynamic investment trade power could come into being in not only Asia, but spanning the whole region from the Atlantic to the Pacific.”​ ​

Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the promotion dinner for the Oxford Islamic Studies Center

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the dinner to promote the Oxford Islamic Studies Center, held at the Dolmabahçe Palace by the President of the Republic of Turkey. In his speech, President Gül stated that the Center would be, “the first academic institute of Islam in Oxford which will play an important role in regards to the understanding of Islam’s true meaning both in the West and the East,” stressing that the Center will elevate the values of solidarity and mutual understanding to their highest levels which are so necessary in today’s world.​ ​

​TOBB, a role model for the world

​ The TOBB Financial General Assembly took place at the TOBB University of Economy and Technology. Speaking at the General Assembly, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that TOBB is the private sector’s strength, born of its unity and said, “Thanks to this tradition which is an example both Turkey and the world, our Chamber and Exchange structure is being shown as an example to all of the countries in our region by the OECD.” ​

​TOBB urges entrepreneurs to contribute to the country’s economy

​ According to the study undertaken by the Media Monitoring Agency Interpress where approximately 2,000 local, regional and national newspapers and magazines were reviewed, last month, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) was mentioned in 2,677 articles in the press. ​
