The food problem is the most crucial problem of the century

Speaking at the meeting held for the UN World Food Day in Istanbul, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the food problem is the most crucial problem of the century and said, “This matter is like nothing else. This is famine. We cannot breathe easily until this problem is solved. We will not sleep easy when our neighbor goes hungry.”​ ​

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu visited TÜBİTAK President Altunbaşak

The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) M. The progress report does not bring new vision to Turkey – EU relations

Reviewing the Turkey Progress Report and Strategy Document published by the European Commission, TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the progress report and strategy document does not harbor a vision which would change the present course of Turkey’s accession to the European Union, one that would hasten the accession process.​ ​

We are ready to cooperate with Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan Ambassador to Ankara, Canseyit Tüymebayev, visited the TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. During the visit which took place in the TOBB Union Center, Ambassador Tüymebayev relayed information regarding Kazakhstan. The establishment of a joint industrial zone and the Turkish Speaking Countries’ Cooperation Council Summit which is to take place on the 20th and 21st of October in the city of Almatı in Kazakhstan were also discussed.​ ​

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the opening of the Kitchen Showroom of the Keklikoğlu and Bodur families’ partnership with the Italian Berloni firm. Stating that more profit means more investment, Hisarcıklıoğlu relayed his well wishes.​ ​

An open trade agreement would be beneficial to the people of both countries

The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “There is an obstacle to increasing the investment and trade volume of both countries. An open trade agreement. If we were to sign an open trade agreement it would be beneficial to the people of both countries. We await the abolishment of these obstacles.”​ ​
