Hisarcıklıoğlu and the Brunei Treasury Minister Rahman discussed efforts to increase cooperation
TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu hosted the Brunei Sultanate Treasury Minister Pehin Abdul Rahman and his delegation at the TOBB Union Center. During the meeting wherein precautions to increase investment possibilities and economic partnerships between the two countries were discussed, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We can cooperate not just between ourselves but also in third countries.”

The Great Anatolia BALO is starting
One of Turkey’s greatest logistics projects, the Great Anatolia Logistics Organizations (BALO) project is starting, lead by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB). As the first part of the project, which aims to transport goods produced in Anatolia via railway to Europe, the first train will travel from Manisa to Munich on September 8th.

MERSİS Cooperation Protocol signed
The Central Registry System (MERSİS) Cooperation Protocol has been signed by the Customs and Commerce Ministry and TOBB. During his speech at the ceremony, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that MERSİS represents a revolution for the companies, traders and industrialists in Turkey. Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed that, with a number provided via the project, institutions would be able to conduct their business with ease.

Mediterranean Leadership Award for Hisarcıklıoğlu
John Hopkins University, an esteemed institution in the USA, deemed it fit to award TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu with the Mediterranean Leadership Award for his contributions to the advancement of stability, economic cooperation and democratization process in Southeast Europe. Stating that he is honored by the award, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “On behalf of my country, TOBB and the Turkish business community, it is with great pride that I accept this award.”
