The commerce and industry chamber administrators of the Organization of the Islamic Conference member countries who completed their training in the Chamber Academy Education Program (TOBB-IDB/ITFC-ICCI Chamber Academy) received their certificates from TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.

The program conducted by the Chambers and Commodity Exchanges Union of Turkey (TOBB), Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the Islamic Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) also received support from TİKA.

During the ceremony held at the TOBB Union Center, the 22 chamber administrators from 21 countries were presented their certificates at the end of the 5 day training program. Speaking in honor of the chamber representatives at the ceremony, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “I hope the whole week has been beneficial for your professional lives. You are occupying key positions in your chambers. You have a responsibility towards your business community and nations. You can contribute a lot to the transformation of your economies and societies. You are historically responsible towards your countries and people. You have to support and lobby for investments and a business friendly environment.

-Assessments of the participants will be noted

Thanking the guests for their participation in the TOBB-IDB/ITFC-ICCI Chamber Academy, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the evaluations that they made will be studied carefully and the next Academy Program in 2012 will benefit from them.

Drawing attention to the website prepared for the Academy Program, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the website should act as a platform where you will continue the relationships they have established over the past five days. Hisarcıklıoğlu also stated that they would be receptive of assistance in order to better design content and develop the site.

The TOBB President ask the participants as Chamber Academy pioneers to assist in making the program a respectable brand, “We, as the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, are ready to offer technical assistance in implementing what you have discussed during the Academy Program. As the Vice-President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, I can assure you that, the Islamic Chamber will also be supporting these efforts. Of course, we shall continue working with the Islamic Development Bank.”

- Which countries participated?

In the program, discussion and information sharing on the primary subjects of Chamber management such as; strategic management, finance management, consultation services for small and medium sized businesses on international trade, Chamber quality management, vocational training and entrepreneurship were held.

Planned to be conducted at least once every year, the program hosted 22 participants from 21 countries; Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Nigeria, Palestine, Syria, Mauritania, Uganda, Albania, Uzbekistan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ghana and Turkey. Educators from Eurochambres, Germany, Austria, Poland and Turkey took part in the program.
