Our trade with Russia will reach 35 billion Dollars

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu hosted the Russian Federation’s Ambassador to Ankara, Valdimir Ivanovskiy at the TOBB Union Center for lunch. During the meeting Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that they have always considered Russia as a very important ally in regards to strength and strategic value while Ambassador Ivanovskiy stated that the good relations with Russia have developed even further in recent years in both the strategic and economic sense and that TOBB has contributed greatly to this.
Stating the importance of Sberbank’s acquisition of Denizbank, the Ambassador said that he expects economic relations to become even stronger.
- Bilateral trade has increased by 13%
Stating that the bilateral trade volume with Russia has increased by 13% in comparison to the January-July period of last year, Ivanovskiy said that despite the global issues trade relations have continued to increase and that they expect the end of the year figure to reach 35 billion Dollars.
Stating that the Turkish private sector is very active in Russia, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that TOBB will provide all support needed to further economic and financial relations. Talking about the international projects undertaken by TOBB, Hisarcıklıoğlu added that the Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Turkey will be very important for the economic relations of the two countries.
