Call for unity and solidarity from Hisarcıklıoğlu to the Turks in France

Conducting meetings all day in France to prevent the passing of the bill which outlaws the denial of the Armenian genocide in Paris, TOBB, TÜSİAD and Turkish Grand National Assembly Foreign Affairs Delegation met in the Turkish Consulate, calling out to the Turks living in France to “Unite”.​ ​

The Turkish business world visited France prior to the parliamentary discussion on the 22nd of December regarding the bill outlawing the denial of the Armenian genocide, making it punishable with 45,000€ and 1 year prison sentence.​ ​

“If this bill is passed economic and commercial ties would be seriously damaged.”

The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu warned France that passing the bill which will make the public denial of the Armenian genocide in France punishable by law would have devastating effects on the commercial relations between the two countries.​ ​

Kırşehir TSO opens new service building

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new service building of the Kırşehir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TSO), TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stating that agriculture used to be limited to subsistence, said, “Farming is now done for profit. We need to run inventory on our agriculture first. To date we still have no idea who is producing what. This can’t work unless we know how much of what goods we are producing.”​ ​

The defense industry met in search conference to ascertain a course of action

Attending the Defense Industry Search Conference, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that in order to become one of the top 10 world economies, a strong defense industry is needed, “We must support and develop the private sector, thereby investing in the country’s future.”​ ​

Hisarcıklıoğlu, visiting the French Ambassador, “Economic relations may suffer”

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the French Ambassador to Turkey, Laurent Bili. Relaying his reservations on the bill, stating that, “The denial of a genocide recognized by French law is punishable by law with a prison sentence of one year and a 45,000 Euro fine,” which is on the French parliament’s agenda, Hisarcıklıoğlu warned that Turkey-France economic relations may suffer as a result.​ ​

Congratulatory visit to Türk-İş President Kumlu

Making an announcement on behalf of the civil society organizations visiting Türk-İş President Mustafa Kumlu on his reelection to presidency, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the business world with its workers, employers, employees, syndicates, tradesmen, agriculture chambers and other profession organizations is in great solidarity; even though difference of opinion may be present, when the future and fate of Turkey are in question then everyone moves in unity.​ ​
