Where before, farming was only for subsistence, it has now become very profitable

Attending the Nizip Chamber of Commerce Mosaic Stones of the Economy Tax Awards Ceremony, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu related how farming used to be done was only for subsistence, “There’s big money in agriculture. Farming is done to prosper today. First, we need run inventory in agriculture. Nobody is quite sure how much Turkey produces of any crop. The fact that we don’t know how much we plant or what we plant cannot go on anymore.”​ ​

We require special economic zones for transition into high technology

Attending the Special Economic Zones on the Road to 2023 Workshop held in Gaziantep, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We cannot be content with just a quantitative increase in the economy. We must succeed in the transition from mid class tech to high tech. At this junction, we need a new understanding of the special economic zones.”​ ​

Tunisian Ambassador to Ankara Rhouma visited Hisarcıklıoğlu

Tunisia’s newly appointed Ambassador to Ankara Mehrez Ben Rhouma visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu in his office. During the meeting, Tunisia’s economic state after the Jasmine Revolution and the Turkish-Tunisian OIZ planned to be built in Tunisia were discussed. Ambassador Rhouma invited TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu to visit Tunisia.​ ​

Medina Municipality President Al Hussain and Melih Gökçek visit TOBB

Medina Municipality President Abdulaziz bin Abdurrahman Al Hussain and Ankara Municipality President Melih Gökçek visited the TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu in his office. Hisarcıklıoğlu made a presentation detailing TOBB and its partnerships, stating that Turkey has come a long way from a trade volume of 15 billion dollars 30 years ago to 135 billion dollars today.​ ​

Hisarcıklıoğlu awarded the Kazakhstan Medal for Development of Friendship and Cooperation

As part of the 20th Anniversary of Independence celebrations, the Kazakhstan Ambassador to Ankara, presented civil society organization representatives, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu among them, and statesmen who have made contributions to Turkey – Kazakhstan relations with the “Friendship and Cooperation Medal”.​ ​

We must protect the rights of our citizens with disabilities as a society

In his message regarding the People with Disabilities Week, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the quality of life we are able to provide our citizens with disabilities is indicative of our level of civilization and understanding of unity and solidarity. Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that we must protect the rights of our citizens with disabilities as a society.​ ​

Speaking at the Turk – Arab Industry Cooperation Conference, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We must determine our own futures. We must first increase regional cooperation. The way to regional cooperation is through the strengthening economic and commercial relations, diversifying cooperation areas and increasing reciprocal investing.”​ ​
