Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

Within the scope of chamber/exchange accreditation system efforts, Accreditation System Orientation Training was organized with the participation of newly appointed Secretaries-General and Accreditation Officers of the Chambers/Exchanges. Activities, revisions, stages of the accreditation process and the general outlines of the accreditation standard from the time the accreditation system was implemented in our Union were explained. ​

Within the scope of chamber/exchange accreditation system efforts, Accreditation System Information Training was organized with the participation of 15th and 16th Term Chambers/Exchanges on March 23-24, 2021. In the training, the accreditation standard was explained to the 15th and 16th Term Chambers/Exchanges in the accreditation process and information was given about their obligations under the articles. ​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) met via video conference to discuss the issues on the agenda of the sector with the participation of industry representatives, headed by Özer Matlı, TOBB Board Member and Turkish Food Industry Council President Necdet Buzbaş.​

The first meeting of the Mediation Board was held under the chairmanship of Hakan Öztatar, Director General of Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Justice, with the participation of Hasan Çağlayan Dündar, TOBB Presidential Advisor and Head of the Real Sector R&D and Implementation Department. The council met with the agenda of evaluating the problems and solutions of the mediation institution, evaluating the status of the mediators who have been audited and reading the Arbitration Activity Report for 2020. ​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Chemical Industry Council convened via video conference under the leadership of TOBB Vice President Ayhan Zeytinoğlu and Council President Timur Erk.​

The March meeting of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkey Durable Consumer Goods Council was held via video conference under the chairmanship of TOBB Board Member Oğuzhan A. Sadıkoğlu and Council President Fatih Ebiçlioğlu.​

In cooperation with TOBB and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a meeting with the Texas Virtual Trade Delegation was held. TOBB Vice President Ayhan Zeytinoğlu and U.S. Chamber of Commerce/ U.S.-Turkey Business Council Vice President Tamer Saka gave keynote speeches and the participants were briefed on the Texas investment environment. Successful Turkish investors in Texas shared experience. U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions addressed attendees during the closing session. ​

The Turkish-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry Forum met with Tashkent Ambassador Olgan Bekar online. During the meeting, Osman Doğan Şahlan, Co-Chair of the Turkish-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry Forum, provided information about the work of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) in Uzbekistan and conveyed his wishes of success to the Ambassador.​

Chadian Ambassador to Ankara Nokour Guet Adoum Dangai and Chad Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture, Mining and Crafts Vice President Ibrahim Jakouny visited the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and met with TOBB Board Treasurer Faik Yavuz. They discussed Chad-Turkey economic relations and exchanged views on possible cooperation. ​

e-Document Training of the Trade Registry Directorates was carried out online on 24.03.2021 with the participation of TOBB and ministry of commerce general directorate of internal trade, Ankara trade registry manager and 66 personnel from 29 chambers.​
