Durable Goods Council held its March meeting

The March meeting of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkey Durable Consumer Goods Council was held via video conference under the chairmanship of TOBB Board Member Oğuzhan A. Sadıkoğlu and Council President Fatih Ebiçlioğlu.​

Within the scope of the agenda of the meeting, Melik Hüseyin Hamidioğullari of the Ministry of Industry and Technology provided information regarding the market supervision and inspection activities for the transition of new energy labels.

The ministry informed that new energy label notifications will be issued in televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers shortly, and with the introduction of the communiqués, suppliers will not be able to bring old energy labeled products to the market.

It was stated that the inspection activity for the new energy label will start in April and that these activities are planned to be intensified at regular intervals. It was stated that the audit activities will start in the first stage through the list of products that cannot be re-labeled and measures will be taken regarding the products that are forbidden to be introduced to the market. However, it was stated that products that cannot be re-labeled with old energy labels in sellers will not be allowed to be sold 9 months after the publication date of the notifications.

Afterwards, after presentations made by Alphan Eröztürk about the Draft Regulation on The Control of Packaging Wastes and the Draft Regulation on the Amendment of the Zero Waste Regulation, Ayşe Keskinkılıç informed about the practices within the scope of the Regulation on Amendments to the Regulation of the Unfair Price Assessment Board.
