Our chambers have repaid their subscriptions many times over

Speaking at the 2012 Gaziantep’s Stars Award Ceremony, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that there are those who question the work of the chambers and replied, “The Turkish Trade Law would have entered into effect in July. If it were to pass in the state it was before there would have been a yearly burden of 6 billion TL on our shoulders. It would have been more noticeable if it had happened then had been cancelled afterwards. They ask what the chambers do. My 365 chambers have worked to an extraordinary extent to protect your rights. They identified your burdens and demanded they be removed. With the support of the government and political parties, these were lifted. The worst of it was that we couldn’t get away if we paid the fines. Eighteen instances of prison sentences have been removed. You’ve gotten your subscriptions’ worth back many times over, just so you know.”
