M.Cihat LOKMANOĞLU - Member

Born in Mersin in 1954, M. Cihat Lokmanoğlu attended secondary education and first and second year of high school at Tarsus American College. He completed his high school education at Acalanes High School in California, United States. Lokmanoğlu graduated from Cornell University in New York State in 1976 as a civil engineer and earned his master's degree from the same university and received the title of “Civil Engineer M.Sc.” in 1977.

Between 1986 and 1990, Lokmanoğlu was a member of the Board of Directors of Mersin Ferry Equipment and Agents Association and took an active role in the establishment of Mersin Maritime Chamber of Commerce in 1989. Lokmanoğlu has been the President of the Board of Directors of the Chamber since its establishment and has served as a TOBB delegate, TOBB High Coordination Board Member as well as a member of the TOBB Arbitration Board. Following the elections held in 2018, he continues to take active part in TOBB as a Member of the Board of Directors and Co-Chairman of the Turkish Wing of the Turkish-TRNC Chamber of Commerce Forum.

Lokmanoğlu, who has been a member of the Board of Directors of Mersin Free Zone Operator Inc. (MESBAŞ) since 1995, serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors between 2000 and 2018 and is still a Member of the Board of Directors.

Lokmanoğlu, who is active in ship brokerage and refrigerated maritime transportation, is married and has two daughters. He is fluent in English.
