Ayhan Zeytinoglu completed his primary and secondary education in Golcuk, Kocaeli, Turkey. He carried on with Advanced Level studies in London. In1980 he started studies in Business Administration at the University of Indiana in the United States of America. He graduated with honors in December 1983. He completed his postgraduate studies in International Finance at Butler University, Indiana in 1985. He is currently studying for his PhD on European Union Agricultural Subsidies at the Marmara University European Community Institution.

 

He’s the General Manager of his family undertaking, Zeytinoglu Feed & Pet Food Inc.

 

He is the Deputy Chairman of The Board of Directors of Autoport Liman Isletmeleri A.Ş (Autoport Terminal Operators) which is a partnership comprising Arkas and the Zeytinoglu Group. He is also the General Coordinator of Zeytinoglu Maritime Inc.

 

In 1989 he took an active role in the establishment of the Kocaeli Chamber of Industry (KCI) and became a founding Board Member. In 1995 he acted as the Vice President. In January 2009 he was elected by majority as the Chairman of the Board of the Kocaeli Chamber of Industry and in May 2013 and again in April 2018 he was re-elected to the post.

 

In July 2015 He was elected Chairman of the Economic Development Foundation (IKV) a non-governmental research organization specializing in EU and Turkey-EU relations and he was elected in July 2017 for a second term.

 

His involvement in other foundations includes the following:

• General Council Member of ICC World Chambers Federation. (2010 – )
• Board of Directors Member of Turkish – American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TACCI).
• Chairman of the Kocaeli Free Trade Zone.
• Chairman of B20 Turkey Anti-Corruption Taskforce (2015)
• Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK), Board Member and Vice Chair 2010-2014
• Has been Foreign Relations Resident Commissioner (TOBB) between the years 2004- 2009.
