DIHK business dinner in Berlin

Attending the business dinner hosted by German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) in Berlin were Germany's Minister of Economy, Peter Altmaier, DIHK President Eric Schweitzer, DIHK CEO Dr. Paul Schmidt. Martin Wansleben, Vice President of Eurochambres Stefan Müchler, Eurochambres Secretary General Arnaldo Abruzzini, Federal Chancellery and the Ministry of Economy senior bureaucrats and Germany's leading business organizations, industrialists and business people.​

TOBB EU Department Chief Mustafa Bayburtlu represented TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.

Speaking at the event, Germany Economy Minister Altmaier, stated that Turkey's friendship with Germany is an old and well-established one dating back to the Ottoman period, stressing that Turkey is geo-strategically very important for Germany.

The dinner, organized for Dr. Wansleben, a very important actor for the German business world. Altmaier stressed the importance of the Turkish business world being represented at the event and reported that over 8,000 German companies are active in Turkey, that German business is contributing to economic development of Turkey, generating jobs. “Turkey's economic stability for Germany is very important.”

Altmaier told TOBB EU Department Chief Mustafa Bayburtlular he would be conducting a visit to Turkey in October with a business delegation visiting Turkey, stressing the need to improve Turkish-German economic relations.

During their speeches, DIHK President Eric Shweitzer and CEO Martin Wansleben emphasized the cooperation between DIHK and TOBB.
