UMAT İPSALA General Assembly was held with the attendances of TOBB Vice Presidents Ali Kopuz and Tamer Kıran, TOBB Board Member Cengiz Günay and UMAT İPSALA President Sefer Kaya Üzen.

TOBB Vice President Ali Kopuz relayed TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu’s greetings and salutations, stating that he said he could not attend the General Assembly as he is abroad.

Stating that almost no investment had been made to the land customs gates which enable almost half of Turkey's all foreign trade for decades, Kopu emphasized that UMAT was established to serve this purpose and İpsala Customs Gates, Turkey's gateway to Europe, was modernized as a part of this process.

Ali Kopuz said, “After this modernization, just as President Kaya said, both our car and passenger counts have increased considerably. UMAT IPSALA is the best examples of unity and solidarity when TOBB, UMAT and 26 Chambers-Exchanges come together.”

Kopuz said they would increase the capacity of İpsala Customs Gate as UMAT İPSALA and invest 120 million TL in the new gate to meet the increasing capacity requirements.

UMAT İPSALA Chairman Kaya Üzen, provided information about the company which was established in 2002. Stating that İpsala Customs Gate contributes to Turkey's economy as well as bringing prestige, being an exemplary customs gate, “Our company has conducted its business mission since its establishment in a manner which is smooth and successful.”
