Ali Kopuz: “As TOBB we value relations with Africa”

TOBB Vice President Ali Kopuz met with the delegation including Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board members and businessmen in İstanbul for bilateral discussion. ​

While TOBB is being introduced to the Zambian delegation in Istanbul by Ali Kopuz In order to improve business connections between Turkey-Zambia through TOBB, furthermore information regarding Turkish economy also given.

 

During his speech in the meeting, Kopuz said “As TOBB, we value relations with Africa. Zambia is country taking significant steps towards integration with world economy. We are aware of availability of co-operation in agriculture, tourism, education, health and infrastructure/housing sectors.”

 

Sharing the information which in 2011 Turkey opened embassy in Lusaka and likewise in 2013 Zambia opened embassy in Ankara, Ali Kopuz said “Our bilateral trade connections are too low. Back in 2011 we had a trading volume around 100 million dollars. But last year it was around 20 million dollars. We must increase the volume of bilateral trading volume.”

 

Underlining the signed “Business Committee Agreement” Kopuz said “With the occasion of your visit let us speed up our cooperation. We are ready to share our knowledge on required areas with the staff of your chamber.”

 

TOBB Vice President Halim Mete also commented on the mechanisms for possible cooperation between TOBB and Zambia chamber of trade and industry.

 

As for Zambia TSO Vice President Mr Chabuka delivered a presentation about Zambia chamber of trade and also gave information regarding the opportunities presented by Zambia.
