Attending the “The Exchange’s Pride, Patent Record-holders Award Ceremony” hosted by the Kayseri Commerce Exchange (KTB), The Union of Chambers and Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that during the last five months 50,000 children have lost their lives due to famine and urged everyone to assist as they are able.

Hisarcıklıoğlu called to mind the aid campaign against the famine in Africa spearheaded by TOBB.

Hisarcıklıoğlu went on; “People are dying on Ethiopian soil, where Muslims exiled from Mecca once found welcome. As residents of Kayseri who compete in both beneficence and profit, we all must first aid our brethren in Africa who are dying from famine. I urge everyone to assist as they are able. According to daily UN reports, the aid is not yet at a point where people will stop dying from hunger. Then it is our duty to help these people who aided the first Muslims. I believe that Kayseri will be Turkey’s champion in this. Your aid is unique. The aid of the business world is important, both as cash and as assistance in kind.

- Kayseri is one of the model cities

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Kayseri is one of the exemplary, model cities and spoke, “Today Kayseri is one with its governor, municipality director, Grand Assembly members and NGOs. This is how grace and prosperity abound. They ask me the secret of Kayseri’s prosperity, it is because Kayseri grasps the meaning of the principle ‘Grace and prosperity in unity, pain in dissent’. I congratulate everyone for displaying such unity.”

After the speeches those who have served in a ministerial capacity in the KTB and the companies who have filed the most patents received their awards.

Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated KTB President Şaban Ünlü on his birthday.

The ceremony was attended by the Kayseri Governor Mevlüt, AK Party Kayseri Assembly Members Pelin Gündeş Bakır and Ahmet Öksüzkaya as well as chamber and exchange presidents and businessmen.
