11.10.2017 / Ankara

Speaking at the Turkish-Canadian Business Forum held at TOBB Social Facilities, TOBB Board Member Yahya Toplu stated that they wanted to increase bilateral trade relations with Canada.

Referring to the relations between Turkey and Canada, Toplu stated that Turkey is one of Canada's important allies; the two countries are working together in NATO and the G20.

Stating that the bilateral trade volume between the two countries parties was 715 million dollars in 2004, reaching 2.3 billion dollars in 2013, Toplu pointed this out as an indicator that there is a continuous decrease in trade volume in 2014-2016 period.

Toplu expressed that Canada is among the 'priority countries' designated by the Economy Ministry for 2016-2017.

Indicating that a business partnership agreement has been signed between TOBB and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Toplu added that they would like to contribute to relations through joint events in the implementation of the agreement.
