The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and TOBB Board Members visited the Science, Industry and Technology Minister Nihat Ergün in his office.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they were visiting to congratulate Ergün, who will be acting as the Science Industry and Technology Minister in the Ministers Council.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Minister Ergün puts great importance on the Turkish private sector, industrial and commerce life, “In the past term, if the Turkish private sector had great success, if there was a record-breaking 11% growth then you all have a great part in it. We found the chance to work with the same understanding, harmony, synergy and cooperation willing to let us work unobstructed.”

“We will continue working closely with TOBB and chambers”

Nihat Ergün expressed his happiness for the visit. Ergün stated that the private sector played an important role in overcoming the crisis as well as the policies adopted by the government, saying, “We saw that Turkey needs both political stability, an atmosphere of trust, the balancing of macroeconomic scales as well as the dynamism of the private sector. When these come together Turkey is able to move forward. In the coming term Turkey will be able to do just that as we preserve these values.”

Talking about the 2023 goals, Ergün went on, “Turkey can achieve this goal. We can’t get anywhere without making knowledge into technology and commercializing technology.”

Minister Ergün stated that they would continue to work together with TOBB in the coming term.
