TOBB mobilizes for industry 4.0

Comprised of Science, Industry and Technology Minister Fikri Işık, Industry, Commerce, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology Commission Chair Ziya Altunyaldız, TOBB Board Vice President Ender Yorgancılar and TOBB Board Member İbrahim Burkay, the Industry 4.0 Workgroup and Research Delegation to Germany organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has departed for Germany to visit and inspect Germany’s prominent industrial complexes.​

The delegation will visit Stuttgart, Nurnberg and Berlin, touring Bosch, Siemens, Mercedes and Wittenstein production facilities and being briefed on Industry 4.0 activities.

The delegation will convene with Turkish businessmen in Germany and meet with Baden-Württemberg state Prime Minister Deputy Nils Shcmidt, Chancellor Peter Altmaier and the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Deutscher Industrie- und Handelskammertag, DIHK) Chair Eric Schweitzer.

 Speaking in regards to their goals for the Germany visit, TOBB Board Vice President Ender Yorgancılar stated that they want to benefit from the experience of Germany regarding Industry 4.0, “Having missed the first three, Turkey can’t miss the fourth Industrial Revolution. The way to increase our global competitive power is through digitizing our industry.”
