16.03.2024 / Düzce

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited Düzce Chamber of Commerce and Industry and met with the members of the council.

During the visit, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Düzce is an industrial city and said, “I say this as someone who travels around Türkiye. When you look at brand cities, there is only one underlying fact. If the governor, mayor and civil society and professional organizations act together in a city, those cities become brand cities. Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Kayseri, Konya and Denizli are examples of these cities. Düzce is now an industrial city. While it used to be known as an agricultural city, it is now known as an industrial city. There are 3 organized industrial zones and 2 more will be added. Today, many metropolitan cities do not have OIZ unlike Düzce. Infrastructure is very important for the industry to get somewhere. There is no possibility of coming without infrastructure. Today, 526 of the 4,000 products produced in Türkiye are produced in Düzce. In 87 products, Düzce is in the top 3 in Türkiye.”

Emphasizing that the economic problems will be overcome, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We will overcome the problems we are currently experiencing. We are on the way with a correct economic program. Hopefully, we will see this positively together after the end of 2024. After the elections are over, we will all see that it has changed positively. We know the road map of how to do it all well. Our biggest discomfort here is high inflation. This is not only our problem but the problem of all Turkish people. Allah willing, the path is true. The economic program is right. After the elections, inflation will quickly drop to single digits. We have seen the blessings of this in the past. Hopefully, we will see the level of welfare increase together.”

Düzce Governor Selçuk Aslan and Düzce Mayor Faruk Özlü also attended the meeting.
