The Mediterranean Region Consultation Meeting took place at the TOBB Twin Towers, presided by TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. During the meeting, the region’s problems and suggestions for solutions were discussed.

 

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu provided information regarding TOBB’s structure, activities and projects.

Emphasizing unity and solidarity in his speech, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “If there is one service or success of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey to speak of to this day, the presidents of all chambers and exchanges have contributed greatly to it. May Allah bless you. If there is success, the presidents of 365 chambers and exchanges deserve recognition for it. If there is failure, I take full responsibility for it.”

Stating that the Turkish private sector provides employment for 14.5 million people, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the private sector conducts approximately 75% of Turkey’s GDP and, 82% of all investments and 90% of exports.

Emphasizing the importance of the cooperation of the private sector and universities, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the TOBB University of Economy and Technology is training innovative investors.
