TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the joint meeting of the chambers and exchanges of the Zonguldak province and counties. In his speech, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that Zonguldak is one of the most important cities in the history of the Turkish Republic.

 

Reminding that Zonguldak is one of the first cities to have an emerging industrial culture, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they are the third in coal production the world and that there are extraordinary resources of iron-steel and forestry goods.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Zonguldak has increased its exports by tenfold in the last ten years, citing it as a success story.

Emphasizing that the chamber/exchange election period is over, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated the importance of the presidents embracing everyone, rival or not.

Stating that TOBB has come to export knowledge instead of importing it, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the chambers in developed countries are starting to take our chambers as examples.

Pointing out that there are those who ask “What is it that the chambers do?” the TOBB President said, “The Credit Guarantee Fund, which vouches for our members; ABİGEM, which provides consultation services to our members; we’ve actualized the UMEM Beceri’10 Project in order to address the need for qualified workforce; we have modernized the customs gates, saving the private sector from a burden of 420 million TL each year.”
