​Violence and fighting can’t solve anything. It is our hope that reason will prevail

We, the business community, are following the incidents which began in Ä°stanbul and spread to many provinces in recent days with apprehension. Our region and the global economy are under duress. In this time of rapid change, we need peace and stability more than ever.
As the private sector which invests in the future of Turkey and provides employment to over 15 million people, it is our hope that reason will prevail.
The democratic endeavors undertaken as per the freedom to protest by our citizens should be protected from ill-meaning provocations. Our sincere citizens should be sensitive in this regard and should not allow such criminal acts as violence, arson and destruction to overshadow their rights and freedoms.
Peace and safety on the streets is the surety of our children and the future of Turkey. Violence and fighting can’t solve anything. Quite the opposite, they will make problems much worse.
No pursuit of justice can be considered an excuse for endangering the lives and possessions of our citizens, causing suffering for shopkeepers and traders and causing damage to public property built with the taxes of our citizens. Those hoping to benefit from the incidences should remember that they will be held accountable in the eyes of history.
Our great nation has overcome many calamities with its historical experience and reason. There should be no doubt that this process will be solved with the same stance and solemnity.
