According to the study undertaken by the Media Monitoring Agency Interpress where approximately 2,000 local, regional and national newspapers and magazines were reviewed, last month, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) was mentioned in 2,677 articles in the press.

Study shows that in April, articles regarding TOBB’s announcement that the Turkish economy is undergoing a period of great transformation found wide audience. It was noted that statements made by TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu who was reelected to the position of Vice President in the Islamic Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA) were mentioned in economy news a total of 789 times.

Drawing the most attention were the news of efforts against counterfeit goods and TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu’s statements that what is being risked by counterfeit and pirated goods is the development speed of a country, the health of its citizens and the tax income the government would have otherwise created.
