Chairpersons of Woman and Young Entrepreneurs Provincial Executive Committee from 81 countries met at TOBB for the elections of TOBB Executive Committee. Delivering a speech at the meeting, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB, stated that the seed they had planted for woman and young entrepreneurs had grown and said, “While the number of visits by those asking for a job from me decreases every passing day, the number of those ask for help to set up a business increase. I’m pleased to see that a considerable number of them are women and young people".

Telling that they founded woman and young entrepreneur committees to encourage entrepreneurship, Hisarcıklıoğlu summarized the present situation as follows: “Now, we receive 20 new business ideas a day.  In the last 3 years, entrepreneurship has become popular in our country.  We attached importance to the subject not to make it popular, but thinking that it was important for the future of our country. I was invited to 267 meetings related to entrepreneurship in 2012.  When I look at the figures I see that our women are more active.  While the number of woman entrepreneurs increased by 6 thousand in 2012, the number of man entrepreneurs was reduced by 12 thousand.  The number of woman members of our chambers saw a rise of 300 percent.  From now on, we need to raise this bar higher. We understand that the seed we have planted sprouting.”

-TOBB acted as a role model

Delivering a detailed presentation about the structure and activities of TOBB, Hisarcıklıoğlu said OECD and the World Bank showed the chamber- commodity exchange system in Turkey as a role model to the world.  Pointing out that they provided training to the general secretaries of chambers of 57 Islamic countries about their own chamber system, President of TOBB said "Now we are exporting knowledge, and acting as a role model to the world."  Underlying the fact that TOBB was the most democratic institution of Turkey, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that chamber membership was compulsory in the entire Continental Europe, including in particular Germany France, Italy, Greece, and Holland, and also in Japan.

Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that 233 chambers and commodity exchanges moved to new service buildings and the service buildings of 132 chambers and commodity exchanges were renovated in 11 years.  Informing that modern laboratories were established in 67 commodity exchanges, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they opened sales halls in 57 commodity exchanges.
