TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, along with Minister of Justice Sadullah Ergin, Customs and Commerce Minister Hayati Yazıcı, Minister of Internal Affairs Muammer Güler and the Hatay Governor Mehmet Celaletting Lekesiz, visited victims visited the victims of the explosion at the Cilvegözü Customs Gate and offered their condolences to the families of the deceased.

 

En route to the customs gate in the Reyhanlı County, Hisarcıklıoğlu and the Ministers were escorted by both security and military forces. The delegation visited the gate and was briefed by authorities under heavy security measures.

During the meeting which took place closed to the press, Hisarcıklıoğlu, Sadullah Ergin, Hayati Yazıcı, Muammer Güler and  Celalettin Lekesiz walked to the explosion site and surveyed the area.

- Visiting the wounded

The delegation visited the wounded recovering at the Reyhanlı State Hospital. Being briefed by the hospital personnel after meeting with the relatives of the victims, Hisarcıklıoğlu and the Ministers visited the homes of İbrahim Yalçınkaya (14), Hasan Dağ (17) and Ali Sille (26), who lost their lives in the explosion to offer their condolences.

During his statement regarding the explosion, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the explosion which resulted in the death of 14 and wounding of even more people has caused great grief and went on, “The bomb which exploded so close to one of the main arteries of trade, one of our customs gates, hurts the peace of the region and the livelihood of transporters. On behalf of the Turkish business world I pray for the grace of Allah upon the deceased and offer my condolences to their families and loved ones, and hope for quick recoveries for the wounded.”
