NGOs united against terror

A joint declaration has been made regarding recent terror attacks by the institutions comprising the Turkey-EU JAC (Joint Arbitration Committee): the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), Turkey Union of Agriculture Chambers (TZOB), Confederation of Turkish Workers’ Syndicates (TÜRK-İŞ), Confederation of Workers’ Rights Syndicates (HAK-İŞ), Confederation of Civil Servants’ Syndicates (MEMUR-SEN), Turkey KAMU-SEN and Confederation of Turkish Employer Syndicates (TİSK).​

The Joint Declaration is as follows:

“As the workers and producers of our country; we, who represent the tradesmen, farmers, workers, civil servants and employers; feel the grievous loss of our citizens who died in Suruç, our martyred soldiers in Adıyaman and our martyred police officers in Ceylanpınar. We vehemently condemn and oppose these terror attacks which target the unity, solidarity and peace of our country.

We pray for the grace of Allah upon those who lost their lives during these attacks; we offer our condolences to their families and wish for speedy recovery of the wounded.

May Allah grant their families perseverance. Our condolences to our nation.

Celebrating a happy and peaceful end to Eid-al Fitr, the flames which fell upon these families is a pain shared by all our nation.

As the business community which represents Turkey’s economy, we condemn and oppose all acts of terror targeting the unity, solidarity and peace of our country.

We will never allow these attacks aimed at the atmosphere of peace and stability of our country and our democracy to reach their goals.

Terror can have no excuse based on language, religion, color or race. Terror is terror. All of these attacks target our country, the solidarity of 78 million.

It is our shared duty to foil these acts of terror through our united stance and common sense.

We must focus on taking concrete steps for moving towards a solution.

It is clear that, the duty of a modern state to ensure the security of its citizens.

We believe that our government will apprehend and judge the perpetrators of these attacks forthwith.
