“We owe mothers gratitude”

09.05.2015 / Ankara

In a release regarding Mothers’ Day, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Mothers contribute greatly to the creation of a healthy social structure through the preservation of the holy institution of family. We owe a debt of gratitude to mothers who undoubtedly contributed the lion’s share to enabling our country to exist.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his message:

“There is no question in regards to the significance of the role mothers play for shaping the future of our country. Putting in all the effort for the preservation of the family institution, mothers never shirt the spiritual burden they bear, instigating the formation of the bonds of love, respect and toleration within the family.

We receive the fundamental knowledge necessary to understand life, to learn and to live according to human honor from our mothers. A mother’s heart is the child’s classroom. Our mothers are the source of all love. The development of individuals, and therefore the structure of society are determined by mothers.

There is no prosperity in an economy bereft of a woman’s touch. They provide dynamism to our economy when they take part in the market in addition to being the central pillar of our families.

That is why TOBB founded the Women Entrepreneurs’ Council in order to facilitate their participation in the economy.

A new page was turned in the business community. We never shirked our duties or responsibilities to this end as TOBB.

We will continue to show the same diligence in the future.

It is with these thoughts and sentiments that I, on behalf of the Turkish business community congratulate mothers, who have shouldered one of the most difficult and hallowed duties in the world and salute them with respect.”
