“Leman Çıdamlı and Kamil Sönmez are names which shall not be forgotten”

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that the loss of the master theatre actor Leman Çıdamlı and the famous Turkish Folk Music singer Kamil Sönmez have deeply saddened Turkey and said, “Leman Çıdamlı had dedicated his life to the theatre and cinema; Kamil sönmez to Turkish Folk Music. We will always remember them with love and respect. Their names have been indelibly written in our hearts.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated in his message:
“The news of two deaths, one soon following the other, has caused us great sorrow. First, we lost the master theatre and cinema actor Leman Çıdamlı and soon afterwards, our dear artist whose name has become synonymous with folk songs, Kamil Sönmez.
Neither Leman Çıdamlı, who has been a guest in our house for years through the many characters she has portrayed nor Kamil Sönmez who has made many people love folk music, especially that of the Black Sea Region, will be erased from our memories. We will remember them with longing forever.
I pray for the grace of Allah upon both of our dear artists and convey my condolences to their loved ones and the whole art community.”
