Publishing a message regarding the New Year, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu wished for 2013 to bring everyone more happiness, peace and prosperity. Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “It is our wish that it will be a year in which we can embrace each other; filled with tolerance and love; where we take concrete steps towards our 2023 goals.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his message:

“We are leaving behind another year with days both sad and happy. We experienced many sorrowful days in 2012 with terrorism, accidents and deaths but we never lost stability, appetite for production and our belief in exuberant days as a country.

It is my wish that hate and enmity will be replaced by peace and solidarity in the hearts of the people. Let us love one another. There is a great race in the world in economy, law, technology and human rights. It befits us to play for the top position in this race; to adopt all values which elevate humans.

Our core is love and solidarity. These sentiments bring us peace; peace brings us trade and trade will bring us prosperity. The truth of it is that our goals as the private sector are very, very large. We have given our word to becoming one of the world’s largest economies in order to find everyone more food and working tirelessly to this end.

I hope that 2013 will be a year to recall for its beautiful days.
It is with these thoughts and sentiments that I, on behalf of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Board of Directors and our business community, celebrate the New Year of our people and all humanity from the bottom of my heart.”
