Council members attend briefing seminar

Speaking at the closing of the Council Member Briefing Seminar taking place between 16th and 18th of January, 2015, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that in a world of rapidly advancing information, he puts great importance on these seminars which aimed approximately 10,000 council members throughout Turkey.​

Stating that they are often directed questions on what chambers and exchanges actually do, Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that the seminars which aim to refresh and complete the knowledge of council members in regards to TOBB’s activities and project as well as contributing to their personal development, will have reached out to over 3,000 members.

 

Stressing the importance of industry, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that it is impossible for a country to prosper or prepare for crises without industry. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they view industry imperative for a stronger Turkey, pointing out that industry is being left behind while service industry moves forward and that the situation needs to be amended.

 

Providing information in regards to Turkey’s G20 Term Chairmanship and his B20 Turkey Chairmanship, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We will be hosting 85% of the world’s economy for a year in Turkey.”

 

Also touching on the Domestic Goods Certification Launch Meeting which took place in İstanbul the previous day, Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that goods produced in Turkey with 51% domestic input will receive Domestic Goods Certification and will be able to mark up their prices 15% when selling to the public administration.
