Giving a speech during the visit, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the first thing to come to mind when thinking about Çaycuma is the Filyos Project.

Stating that the Filyos Project is one of Turkey’s most important projects, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “This isn’t just about a port construction or energy production but a project which will change the face of Turkey. I hope that the legislative issues are resolved shortly. If the legislative process is unlikely to be resolved soon or at all, we must find another way to put the project in motion. This isn’t Zonguldak’s, Bartın’s or Karabük’s; this is Turkey’s project. When this place is open to employment, none of us will even recognize it. We need to bring this to the attention of the politicians who will campaign here.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that there can be no industry without an airport, said, “We need ports, railways and investors. That is all well and good but we also need an airport. This is very important for us. We will do what we can to this end. We had opportunity to relay Zonguldak’s and Çaycuma’s issues to President of the Republic Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during his Prime Ministry during the industry summit.”
