TOBB founding an entrepreneurs’ workshop in Diyarbakır

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) is founding an enterprise workshop in Diyarbakır in order to actualize the entrepreneurial potential of the region. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “People of Diyarbakır outside of Diyarbakır are very successful. We are founding an entrepreneurs’ garage in Diyarbakır to replicate this success in Diyarbakır. Diyarbakır has great potential.”​

During the opening of the “GARAGE Diyarbakır Entrepreneur Training Workshop” Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they have come to Diyarbakır in order to build an enterprise factory.

 

Stating that entrepreneurship is a chimney-less factory, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “People of Diyarbakır outside of Diyarbakır are very successful. We are founding an entrepreneurs’ garage in Diyarbakır to replicate this success in Diyarbakır. Diyarbakır has great potential and the average age is 20-30. A very productive age range.”

 

Stating that the path prosperity is through enterprise, Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that every entrepreneur in Turkey equals employment for 10 people, pointing out that there are 1.5 million entrepreneurs, providing employment for 15 million.

 

Hisarcıklıoğlu said that companies like Google, Microsoft and Apple were founded working in garages, pointing out that their market values are, respectively, 370 billion, 400 billion and 670 billion USD.

 

TEPAV Director Güven Sak stated that entrepreneurship is not possible without peace. Pointing out that is a 4.5 times difference between small and large companies in terms of efficiency, putting the country in first place with this statistic.

 

Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DTSO) President Ahmet Sayar reported that they would encourage entrepreneurs to take part in the project, stating that despite disadvantageous conditions, this project would contribute greatly to entrepreneurship.
