In a message in regards to Şöhretoğlu’s passing, TOBB President M: Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We have learned to our great sorrow the loss of one of the most respectable and valued business people of our community, TOBB Economic Policy Commission Member and Niksar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board President Mehmet Şöhretoğlu. We pray for the grace of Allah upon him and extend our condolences to his loved ones and the business community.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Şöhretoğlu has undertaken tasks of great importance in his Chamber and achieved many successes, “Mr. Şöhretoğlu’s name will live on in our hearts as a businessman who created value for the economy and jobs for the people. We share the pain of his family, loved ones and the business community. Grace of Allah be upon him and may heaven be his abode.”
