Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

We must think differently but act in unison for the benefit of our city

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, during his speech at the Council Member Briefing Seminar, stated that in order to have cities develop, everyone in a province must think differently but act in unison in line with common sense.

Addressing the chamber and commodity exchange council members attending the Briefing Seminar at TOBB ETU from various regions of Turkey, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized the importance of unity and solidarity. “Birds fly with their flocks. Only those who fly with their flocks reach their destinations,” said Hisarcıklıoğlu and stated that everyone thinking differently does not preclude acting in unison in line with common sense.

Stating that prosperity of the country and the development of the provinces are dependent on entrepreneurs, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “It is very difficult to ask for the votes of the people you compete with for four years. This is a testament to how peaceful the business world of traders is, to how strongly they believe in democracy. You must show the way to your colleagues in your provinces. Let us not forget that the offices we hold are not for our benefit, but for the benefit of others. You are in a great position to benefit others. Use this well. The prosperity of this country will occur with you. If you don’t conduct business, if you don’t create jobs, there can be no prosperity.”

Stating that the quality and standards of chambers and commodity exchanges is at its highest level today, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu added that 192 chambers will be certified as 5-star chambers by the end of the year.
