25.04.2014 / Kayseri

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that the rules of trade are changing throughout the world, said, “If we can’t adapt to the developments, Turkey will not prosper.”

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the 3rd Kayseri Economy Symposium held by the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce and the Erciyes University School of Economics and Administrative Sciences.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that currency is decreasing throughout the world and gaining in value, “The fluctuations in interest rates are a result of this. While the amount of currency in circulation decreases, world trade volume is increasing.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that the middle class is growing rapidly, a significant portion of the population increasing their buying power; the world economy growing exponentially.

Viewing entrepreneurship as the main competitive factor in international trade, Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed the importance of increasing entrepreneurship and facilitating e-trade, “If we are unable to adapt to changes, Turkey will not prosper.”

Pointing out that there are occasional political disputes in Turkey, Hisarcıklıoğlu urged focusing on business instead of political infighting.

Stating that despite the crisis in 2008, the private sector has provided jobs for an additional 4.5 million people, Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed his pride in the Turkish private sector.
