Stating that Marmaris is a veritable heaven on earth, Hisarcıklığlu said, “We have to be profiting more from such beauty. If you say that this is enough we all fail.” Hisarcıklıoğlu, relating how Turkey has come such a long way in 30 years, gave as examples the goals of Turgut Özal and the progress we’ve accomplished. Stating that the contribution of the tourism sector to the national economy is matched by no other sector, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that every single good and service sold in tourism is an export.

Stating that they need a change of mentality and greater goals, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized the need to draw wealthy tourists to Turkey. Pointing out the importance of branding, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “You cannot profit without branding your business. The second important matter after that is marketing.”

Talking about the importance they put on women entrepreneurs, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “It’s not a fad, I put great importance on women entrepreneurs because I want to prosper. The more entrepreneurs we have, the richer we will be.”

In his speech, the Culture and Tourism Minister Ertuğrul Günay drew attention to the importance of the Marmaris Honey House and said, “Today is a day as sweet as honey. I congratulate everyone who has contributed to its formation.

Günay said, “Tourism in Turkey needs to become able to address the needs of higher income tourists.”
