“The great master Erol Günaydın will live on in the hearts of his people”

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu made an announcement regarding the passing of the master theatre actor Erol Günaydın: “We are grieved by the loss of a great artist who contributed greatly to Turkish theatre and television for over half a century. The name, Erol Günaydın, will live on forever in the hearts of this nation; it will not be forgotten.”
In his message Hisarcıklıoğlu said:
“We have learned to our great sorrow that the great artist Erol Günaydın, who was in intensive care in İstanbul, has passed away.
Günaydın’s name will be written on the theatres to which he dedicated his life. Erol Günaydın who won our hearts in his career which he started in 1955 will be an inspiration to love theatre and acting for future generations.
On behalf of the Turkish business world I pray for the grace of Allah upon Master Erol Günaydın and present my condolences to his family, loved ones and the whole Turkish nation. May heaven be his abode!”
