Attending the 2012 TOBB –Islamic Development Bank Cooperation 2nd Review Meeting held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that trade between Islamic countries must be improved and said that trade will contribute to ending all enmities and wars.​

Accompanying TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu in his visit to Jeddah to meet with Islamic Development Bank President Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali Madani, Vice President Ahmet Tıktık, Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation Prof. Dr. Ekmelettin İhsanoğlu and Islamic Trade, Industry and Agriculture Chamber President Sheikh Saleh Kamel were TOBB Board Vice Presidents Halim Mete, Murat Yalçıntaş, Tanıl Küçük, TOBB Treasurer İlhan Parseker, TOBB Board Members Fahrettin Akyıl, Mustafa Yardımcı, Ender Yorgancılar, Çetin Osman Budak, Mehmet Ali Kuseyri, Arif Parmaksız and Harun Karacan.

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with Islamic Development Bank President Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali. Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed that projects undertaken by TOBB and the Islamic Development Bank aimed at improving the system, thereby improving the private sector, are of the utmost importance.

Hisarcıklıoğlu provided information regarding the training programs coordinated by TOBB for Islamic countries and requested IDB’s support in the fields of cooperation pertaining to the TOBB-OIC Action Plan.

Islamic Development Bank President Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali stated that the Islamic Development Bank’s cooperation with TOBB contributes to their mission and thanked Hisarcıklıoğlu for the projects that they’ve completed.

Hisarcıklıoğlu also met with Islamic Development Bank Vice President Dr. Ahmet Tıktık in bilateral talks. The TOBB President touched on the importance of the development of trade between Islamic countries and emphasized that TOBB stands ready to contribute to technical and knowledge exchange projects. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that contributions would be made to experience sharing programs in Central Asia.

Dr. Ahmet Tıktık provided the TOBB delegation information regarding funds provided to Islamic countries by the IDB.

- Meeting with Islamic Trade, Industry and Agriculture Chamber President Sheikh Saleh Kamel

Islamic Trade, Industry and Agriculture Chamber President Sheikh Saleh Kamel held an iftar feast in honor of the TOBB delegation. During the supper, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and Sheikh Saleh Kamel assessed the situation of Syrian and Rohingya Muslims and stated their desired for a rapid solution to the problems.

Exchanging ideas in regards to increasing trade between Islamic countries, Hisarcıklıoğlu and Sheikh Saleh Kamel emphasized that fields of cooperation can be developed as part of the Islamic Chamber.

- Meeting with Organization of the Islamic Cooperation Secretary General Prof. Dr. Ä°hsanoÄŸlu

As part of his Jeddah visit, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu met with Organization of the Islamic Cooperation Secretary General Prof. Dr. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu.

Hisarcıklıoğlu discussed the Action Plan to be formed as a result of the memorandum of understanding signed between TOBB and OIC during the meeting which took place in Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu’s residence.

Stating that entrepreneurship and private sector in Islamic countries must rapidly develop, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that the preferential trading system agreement signed between the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation member states (TPS-OIC) will be a significant step once it goes into effect. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that trade between Islamic countries must be improved and said that trade will contribute to ending all enmities and wars.

Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu stated that the TPS-OIC will go a long way in abolishing obstacles to trade. İhsanoğlu, while touching on developments in agricultural food, requested TOBB’s contribution and support for promoting the TPS-OIC.
