In his May 19th Atatürk Commemoration, Youth and Sports Day message, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the power to carry our country to the peak of civilization among the countries of the world in all fields from economy to democracy is to be found in the youth.

Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Our generation has made Turkey, founded by and the seeds of industrialization planted by our ancestors, one of the most influential economic powers in the world. The ones who will continue this and carry our flag to the summit are the youth. They will paint a beautiful future.”

In his message, Hisarcıklıoğlu said:

“It has been 93 years since the Great Leader Atatürk landed in Samsun on the Bandırma Ferry and sparked the flame of the National Independence War on May 19th, 1919. During this time our nation joined a long and never ending civilization race after a great and arduous war for independence.

Along with the declaration of the republic and modern reforms, our people have found that an order built on the sovereignty of the people, democracy and human rights to be the closest to its own hardworking and independent nature.

Making all of this possible for us, the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his brothers-in-arms will forever live on in the hearts of our people.

The Republic of Turkey is in a great race of civilization and economy among the nations of the world. Analyzing the actualities of the world, our business world has adopted great goals. I honestly believe that our business world can bring us to the fore of this race. This belief is based on our youth in whose eyes I see great energy, future and hope.

All we need to do is remove obstacles blocking them. We must provide them with an environment where they can enterprise without fear. Then see what these precious youth of ours can achieve, how they carry Turkey to the summit.

It is with these thoughts that I, on behalf of the Turkish private sector, celebrate the May 19th Atatürk Commemoration, Youth and Sports Day and respectfully recall the veterans and martyrs who have made it possible on this, the day on which the Great Atatürk started the independence fight for the indivisible oneness of our nation, its unity and solidarity.”
