Uludağ Environment Forum in Bursa

The second Uludağ Environment Forum, organized by the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) to raise awareness on sustainability and green transformation in the industry, was hosted by Bursa Business School on May 13-14, 2025.​

The opening speeches of the event were made with the participation of Vedat Kılıç, Chairman of the BTSO EU Harmonization and Green Consensus Council, İbrahim Burkay, Chairman of the BTSO Board of Directors, and Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

In the special session held after the opening speeches, moderated by Vahap Munyar, General Coordinator of Economy Newspaper, with the participation of Ali Kantur, President of the Türkiye Waste and Recycling Industry Council of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), Prof. Dr. Halil Hasar, President of Climate Change, and Hakkı Karabörklü, General Manager of Product Safety and Inspection of the Ministry of Trade, the panel titled “Green Transformation and Competitiveness: Policies and Opportunities” was organized.

The second day of the event continued with panels and various sessions.

The first session of the second day titled “Deposit Management System: Recycling from the Source and Consumer Awareness” was moderated by Prof. Dr. Erdem Görgün, Lecturer at the Department of Environmental Engineering at İstanbul Technical University, with the participation of Dr. Zübeyir Dedeoğlu, Vice President of the Turkish Environment Agency, A. Saygın Baban, Head of the Department of Sectors and Entrepreneurship at TOBB, Mehmet Hekim, Deputy General Manager of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance Mint and Stamp Printing House, Ataç Tansuğ, Head of Digital Services at DIAS Information and Technology Services, and Esra Güven, President of ÜÇGE Group Companies.

The last session of the second day titled “Carbon Verification in Türkiye” moderated by A. Saygın Baban, Head of the Department of Sectors and Entrepreneurship at TOBB, was completed with great interest of the participants.

In the panel held with the participation of Volkan Polat, Head of Greenhouse Gas Emission Department of the Directorate of Climate Change, and Mehmet Ergün, Sustainability and Climate Change Manager of TSE, information was provided on “Türkiye’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions Monitoring, Reporting and Verification System”, “Carbon Regulation Mechanism at the Border”, “Relationship between ETS and CBA”, “Carbon Footprint, CBA and life cycle analysis Calculation Standards and differences” and questions from the participants were answered.
