Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

The 25th Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair (EMİTT) was held in Istanbul on February 9, 2022. Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy gave the opening speech at the fair, which was attended by Board Member Davut Çetin representing the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uşak Chamber of Commerce and Industry and TOBB Board Member S. Selim Kandemir.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Higher Education Council meeting was held in hybrid with the participation of TOBB Vice President Selçuk Öztürk, who is in charge of the Council, under the chairmanship of Council President Bekir Okan, with the contributions of YÖK Deputy Chairman Safa Kapıoğlu, the chairman of the board of trustees, rectors and vice-rectors of foundation universities.​

TOBB Turkey Leather and Leather Products Industry Council delegation visited Hasan Büyükdede, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, in his office and made assessments about the sector.​

Chaired by Nurten Öztürk, Women Entrepreneurs Council President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), TOBB Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Council 33rd Value Adding Women Entrepreneurs Meeting was held with TOBB Giresun and TOBB Konya Women Entrepreneur Council with the participation of TOBB Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Board members and provincial board members.​

TOBB held an online meeting with the participation of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and the Madrid Trade Consultancy.​

Development Agencies Evaluation Meeting was held at the National Library of the Presidential Complex.​

According to the Domestic Goods Communiqué (SGM 2014/35), prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Technology in accordance with Article 63 of the Public Procurement Law No. 4734 and published in the Official Gazette dated September 13, 2014 and numbered 29118, 1,163 Domestic Goods Certificates were approved by TOBB in 2022.​

The number of capacity reports approved by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) in January 2022 increased by 27.7% (1,004 units) to 4,620 units compared to January 2021 (3,616 units).​

The Turkish Technical Advisory Council, which operates within the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), has elected the president and vice president for the new term. H. İrfan Aker, Chairman of the Turkish Association of Consulting Engineers and Architects (TürkMMMB), was elected Council President.​

Regional Chamber trainings are continuing, where the digital tachograph contactless application system, which reduces the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and allows digitalization. In this context, two trainings were held on 10.01.2022 hosted by Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry and on 28.01.2022 hosted by Manisa Chamber of Commerce and Industry.​
