Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, in Paris to attend the World SME Forum, met with John Danilovich, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu has been re-elected as Vice Chairman of the Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI), an office which he has been holding for two years, in Taiwan. Hisarcıklıoğlu said that TOBB strives to represent the business world at the highest level all over the world. CACCI Chair Jemal Inaishvili also continues to hold the CACCI Presidency office.​

We are deeply saddened by the decision of the European Parliament (EP) to ‘‘temporarily freeze the accession negotiations with Turkey’’. We also regret the fact that such an important decision has been made without any consultation with social stakeholders including professional organizations, civil society organizations as well as the workers’, civil servants’ and employers’ labor union confederations that are members of the Turkey-EU Joint Consultative Committee.​

TOBB ETÜ 2015-2016 Graduation and 2016-2017 Education Year Inaugural Ceremony was held with the participation of National Education Minister İsmet Yılmaz and Finance Minister Naci Ağbal and TOBB President and TOBB ETU Chairman of the Board of Trustees M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, who participated in the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Traditional Award Ceremony, pointed out the importance of protecting unity and solidarity and underlined the need to refocus on the economy and reforms in 2017. Hisarcıklıoğlu talked about one of the most important demands of business world in Antalya, means of access to opportunities regarding employment costs and finance.​

One of the most important events of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, celebrated simultaneously in over 160 countries all over the world, the 6th g3 Forum (Future Entrepreneurs Forum) was held in Istanbul.​

The Turkish-Arab Chamber, headquartered in İstanbul, has been established with the signing of a protocol between the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the Union of Arab Chambers.​

TOBB President and TOBB Economics and Technology University (ETU) Chairman of the Board of Trustees M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, in his November 24th Teachers Day address stated that teachers are the most important actors shaping the future of society.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the consultation meeting of the Chambers and Exchanges of Ankara and its counties.​

TOBB is establishing a Turkish-Arab Chamber by signing an agreement with the Union of Arab Chambers. The chamber will bring the Turkish business community into contact with 22 countries totaling an economy of 2.7 trillion USD. The agreement will be signed in Istanbul on November 24th, 2016.​
