Our governments are taking a series of steps towards developing bilateral economic relations.

Kıran, stating that Canada is among Turkey’s 'priority countries' said, “Canada's Global Market's Plan designates Turkey as a ‘top emerging market’. Export Development Canada has identified Turkey as a strategic market for Canada. It has designated its regional center as İstanbul.

- Infrastructure and energy contain serious potential

Kıran stated that TOBB’s visit last year to Canadian has proved beneficial and that they welcome further bilateral visits between Turkey and Canada in the future, emphasizing that they want to include new sector areas in the cooperation between the two countries. Tamer Kıran drew attention to significant potential in the infrastructure and energy sectors.

- Ambassador Cooter

The Canadian Ambassador Chris Cooter, referring to the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Canada, spoke about the possible establishment of successful collaborations with Turkey in third countries.

Touching on the success of Turkey's construction sector and Canada’s technology, defense and genetics industries, Cooter said combining the two countries' expertise and experiences can be instrumental for important beginnings.

He also stated that there are many organizations throughout the world similar to TOBB but that the only one to visit Canada last year was TOBB and expressed his thanks to the TOBB President for his visit to Canada last year.
