Turkey-Qatar Agricultural Business Forum held at TOBB

Turkey-Qatar Agricultural Business Forum was held at TOBB Twin the Towers with the participation of of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Minister Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba, Qatar Municipalities and Environment Minister Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi, TOBB Board Treasurer Faik Yavuz and TOBB Board Member Yahya Toplu.​

TOBB Board Treasurer Faik Yavuz stated that TOBB works with Qatar Chamber of Commerce on many platforms in great harmony that they’ve been in contact with the Qatar Chamber of Commerce President since the beginning of the crisis in the Gulf region and that TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu also sent a letter of support directly via a representative.

Faik Yavuz, stated Qatar, despite distance, Qatar is closely tied with Turkey, and that “They closely follow the 2030 Qatari National Vision,” stressing that Qatar has taken a very correct step forward.

Faik Yavuz emphasized the importance of the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between Turkey and the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Preferential Trade Agreement between the TIPS-OIC Islamic countries.

TOBB Board Member Yahya Toplu also said they would bring a delegation to Qatar, “I'll pass the matter of holding a Business Forum to Mr. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. I believe we will gladly arrange the Business forum. We will also be opening a representative office. I hope business volume between the two countries will increase.”

Food, Agriculture and Livestock Minister Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba stated that in addition economic relations, the two countries are siblings in almost all accounts.

As a part of the Forum, an Action Plan was signed between Turkey and Qatar.
